How to Restore Deleted Files on Your Server
Files you delete in the panel go to the recycling bin for 30 days. Here's how to get them back.
When you delete files in Files, they aren't removed straight away. They go to the server's recycling bin, .trash, for 30 days.
Restore a file
- Open your server and go to Files.
- Open
.trash, the first folder in the top level. - Find the file or folder. Each entry shows where it was deleted from.
- Use Restore file to its original location.
It goes back exactly where it was.
Things to know
- After 30 days, files in the recycling bin are deleted for good.
- FORCE DELETE skips the recycling bin. Files deleted that way can't be restored, except from a backup.
- Files changed or deleted by the server itself (or over SFTP) don't go to the recycling bin.
