How to Add Extra Ports to Your Server
Add a port for plugins and mods that need their own, like Dynmap, NuVotifier or a second voice server.
Some plugins and mods run their own service and need a port of their own: web maps (Dynmap, BlueMap), vote listeners (NuVotifier), or query and RCON on separate ports.
Add a port
- Open your server and go to Network.
- Click Add Allocation.
The new port appears in the list. Put that number in the plugin or mod's config, then restart the server from Console.
Your plan includes a number of extra ports; the page shows how many you've used. When you've used them all, Add more ports takes you to add-ons for your service.
Add a note
Give each port a Custom Note (for example "Dynmap") so you remember what it's for.
Which services need a port?
| Service | Needs its own port? |
|---|---|
| Geyser (Bedrock players) | No: it can share your server's port over UDP |
| Simple Voice Chat | No: it can share your server's port over UDP |
| Dynmap, BlueMap | Yes |
| NuVotifier | Yes |
| RCON, query | Yes, if you use them |
Note
Players still join on your server's main port. Extra ports are only for these other services.
