How to Let Console Players Join a Bedrock Server With MCXboxBroadcast

MCXboxBroadcast shows your Bedrock server in console players' Friends list, so Xbox, PlayStation and Switch players can join.

Updated 1 min read

Consoles can't add servers in Minecraft. MCXboxBroadcast works around this: it signs in to a spare Xbox account and shows your server as that account's game, so its friends join from the Friends tab.

How it runs with a Bedrock server

On a Java server with Geyser, MCXboxBroadcast runs inside Geyser. A Bedrock server can't run it, so use the standalone version on something that stays on, such as a home computer or a small Java server.

Set it up

  1. Make a spare Microsoft account for the broadcast. Don't use your own.
  2. Download the standalone MCXboxBroadcast .jar from its GitHub releases. It needs Java 17 or newer.
  3. Run it once with java -jar MCXboxBroadcastStandalone.jar. It creates config.yml.
  4. In config.yml, set the remote-address and remote-port to your Beacon server's address and port (from Network).
  5. Run it again. It prints a link and a code; open the link and sign in with the spare account.

Join from a console

  1. On the console, add the spare account as a friend.
  2. Open Minecraft and go to Friends. Join the server shown there.

Tip

If you'd rather not run anything extra, BedrockConnect is a simpler option: see How to Join a Bedrock Server on Xbox.
