How to Turn On Cheats on a Minecraft Bedrock Server
Let operators use commands like /gamemode and /give on your Bedrock server.
Updated 1 min read
On Bedrock, commands like /gamemode, /give and /tp only work in game when cheats are on.
From the Players page
- Open your server and click Players in the sidebar.
- If it says Cheats are disabled, click Enable cheats.
- Restart the server from Console.
In server.properties
- Open your server and go to Files.
- Click
server.propertiesto open it in the Minecraft Server Properties editor. - Use Search for property name... to find the setting.
- Turn on
allow-cheats. - Save and restart.
Make yourself an operator
Cheats only matter for operators. On Players, enter your exact Bedrock gamertag under Grant operator, or run in Console:
op "YourGamertag"
Note
Turning cheats on in a world means it no longer earns achievements, the same as in singleplayer. Commands run in Console always work, with or without cheats.
