How to Download Your Bedrock Server's World for Singleplayer

Download your Bedrock server's world and open it in singleplayer as a .mcworld file.

Updated 1 min read

1. Download the world

  1. In Console, click Stop so the world is fully saved.
  2. In Files, open the worlds folder. Your world is the folder named after level-name in server.properties (by default Bedrock level).
  3. Compress that folder into a .zip and download it.

2. Turn it into a .mcworld

A .mcworld file is a zip with the world's files at its top level.

  1. Open the zip on your computer. If level.dat is inside a folder, take the files out of that folder and zip them again, so level.dat is at the top.
  2. Rename the zip from .zip to .mcworld.

3. Open it

  • Windows: double-click the .mcworld file. Minecraft imports it.
  • Android / iOS: open the file from your files app and choose Minecraft.

The world appears in your Worlds list.

Note

Consoles can't import .mcworld files directly. Import it on Windows or a phone first, then use Realms or the same account to get it across.
