How to Create a Custom Modpack in the Modrinth App
Build your own modpack in the Modrinth App, export it as an .mrpack, and run it on a Beacon server.
Updated 1 min read
Create the instance
- Open the Modrinth App and click Create (the +) in the left bar.
- Give it a name, and pick the loader (Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge) and the Minecraft version.
- Click Create.
Add mods
- Open the instance and click Add content.
- Search for each mod and click Install. The app only shows mods for your loader and version, and adds required mods for you.
Launch it once to check it loads.
Share it
Open the instance's ⋮ menu and choose Export modpack. This makes an .mrpack file your friends can open in the Modrinth App, or in Prism Launcher via Import.
Run it on your Beacon server
- In Package Manager, install the same loader and version as your instance.
- Install each server-side mod from Package Manager (Browse packages, search, Install). Leave out client-only mods such as minimaps, shaders and HUDs.
- Restart the server from Console.
If you publish your pack on Modrinth, you can install the whole thing on the server from Package Manager like any other modpack.
