How to Add and Remove Mods on a GDLauncher Modpack

Add or remove mods in a GDLauncher modpack, and keep your Beacon server's mods matching.

Updated 1 min read

You can add mods to a modpack, or remove ones you don't want, in the GDLauncher.

Change the mods in your launcher

  1. Right-click the instance and choose Manage.
  2. Open the Mods tab.
  3. Add a mod: click Add Mod, search for it, and click Install.
  4. Remove a mod: tick it and click Delete, or turn its switch off to disable it.

Warning

Changing a modpack can break worlds that use the mods you remove. Make a copy of the instance (or a backup) before removing mods from a pack you've been playing.

Make the server match

Anyone joining needs the same mods as the server, except client-only mods (minimaps, shaders, HUDs), which only go on your computer.

To change the server's mods:

  1. Open your server in the panel and go to Backups. Create a backup.
  2. Add a mod: go to Package Manager, click Browse packages, search for the mod, and click Install. Package Manager picks the version for your loader and Minecraft version, and installs anything it depends on.
  3. Remove a mod: go to Package Manager, find it under installed packages, and remove it.
  4. Restart the server from Console. Package changes apply on the next start.

For a mod that isn't on Modrinth or CurseForge, see How to Add Custom Mods.
