Bedrock games update themselves, and a player can only join a server on the **same version**. When Mojang releases an update, players see "Outdated server" until you update.

## Update the server

1. Go to **Backups** and create a backup.
2. Go to **Package Manager**, find **Bedrock** in the installed list, and pick the newest version.
3. Confirm and restart the server from **Console**.

Your world, settings, allowlist and permissions are kept.

## After updating

- Check **Console** for errors as it starts.
- Behaviour and resource packs may need updating for the new version.
- If players still see "Outdated client", their game hasn't updated yet. Updating it from their app store fixes it.

> [!NOTE]
> Bedrock worlds can't go back to an older version safely. Keep the backup until you're happy with the update.
