Minecraft on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch doesn't let players add their own servers. **MCXboxBroadcast** works around this: it signs in to an Xbox account and broadcasts your server as a game that account's friends can join.

## Before you start

You need **Geyser** set up first: see [How to Install Geyser and Floodgate](/knowledgebase/how-to-install-geyser-and-floodgate-on-a-minecraft-java-server).

You also need a spare **Microsoft account** for the broadcast. Don't use your own.

## Install it

MCXboxBroadcast is a **Geyser extension**.

1. Download the extension `.jar` from MCXboxBroadcast's GitHub releases.
2. Stop the server, and upload it to Geyser's `extensions` folder in **Files** (for example `plugins/Geyser-Spigot/extensions`).
3. Start the server and watch **Console**. It shows a code and a link to sign in with the spare Microsoft account.
4. Open the link, enter the code, and sign in.

## Join from a console

1. On the console, add the spare account as a **friend**.
2. Open Minecraft and go to the **Friends** tab. Your server appears there; join it.

> [!NOTE]
> The broadcast account must stay signed in. If players stop seeing the server, check **Console** for MCXboxBroadcast errors and sign in again.
