**Geyser** lets Bedrock Edition players (phones, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Windows) join a Java server. **Floodgate** lets them join without owning a Java account.

## Install them

Geyser works on **Paper**, **Fabric**, **NeoForge** and **Velocity**.

1. Open **Package Manager**, click **Browse packages**, and search for **Geyser**. Install the build for your server software.
2. Search for **Floodgate** and install it too.
3. Package changes are queued and applied the next time the server starts, so restart it from **Console** when you're done.
4. Stop the server once it has started, so you can edit the config.

## Set the port

Bedrock players connect over UDP. Geyser can share your server's port.

1. Open **Files** and edit `plugins/Geyser-Spigot/config.yml` (on Fabric or NeoForge: `config/Geyser-Fabric/config.yml` or `config/Geyser-NeoForge/config.yml`).
2. Under `bedrock:`, set `port` to **your server's port** (the number after the `:` on the **Network** page).
3. Save and start the server.

## Join from Bedrock

Bedrock players add a server with your server's address and the same port.

> [!NOTE]
> Bedrock players' names start with a `.` by default, so they don't clash with Java names. Whitelist them with the dot: `whitelist add .BedrockName`.

Consoles can't add custom servers directly. See [How to Install MCXboxBroadcast](/knowledgebase/how-to-install-mcxboxbroadcast-on-a-minecraft-java-server) for a way around it.
