**Farsight** lets players keep chunks loaded beyond the server's view distance on their own side, so distant terrain stays visible.

## Install it

Farsight is mainly a **client** mod.

1. **Players:** install the Forge or NeoForge build of Farsight in their launcher, for the server's Minecraft version.
2. **Server (optional):** install it from **Package Manager** (**Browse packages**, search **Farsight**, **Install**) if your version needs it on both sides. Package changes are queued and applied the next time the server starts, so restart it from **Console** when you're done.

Make sure you pick the build for your loader: Forge and NeoForge builds aren't interchangeable on newer versions.

## The server's view distance

The server's `view-distance` in `server.properties` still decides how far it loads and sends chunks. Raise it a step at a time; it costs memory and CPU.
