# **How to Enable Command Blocks on a Minecraft Java Server**

Command blocks are a powerful feature in Minecraft that allow you to automate commands and create complex gameplay mechanics. By default, command blocks are disabled on Minecraft Java servers for security reasons. This guide will walk you through enabling them on your Beacon Hosting server.

---

## **Step 1: Open server.properties**

1. Log in at [www.beaconhosting.org/auth/login](https://www.beaconhosting.org/auth/login)
2. Open **Your Servers** and select your Minecraft Java server
3. Go to **Files** and open `server.properties`

---

## **Step 2: Enable command blocks**

In the Visual Editor, expand **Commonly used** or search for `enable-command-block`. Turn it to **Enabled**.

In the Raw Editor, set:

```
enable-command-block=true
```

Save the file.

---

## **Step 3: Restart your server**

Restart the server from **Console** so the change takes effect.

---

> **[INFO]** You need operator (OP) permissions to obtain and use command blocks in survival. Grant OP from **Players** or **Console** (`op <playername>`). In creative mode, you can place command blocks from the inventory.
