You cancel a server from its service page in Billing. Only the account that owns the service can cancel it.

## Cancel

1. Log in and open [Billing → Services](/billing/services).
2. Click the service you want to cancel.
3. Choose how to cancel:
   - **Cancel at end of period:** the server keeps running until the time you've paid for runs out, then stops. Nothing more is charged.
   - **Cancel immediately:** the service ends now.
4. Confirm.

You'll get an email when the service ends.

> [!TIP]
> Not sure yet? Turn off **Automatic renewal** on the same page instead. You'll get an invoice to pay each time it's due, and nothing is charged automatically.

## What happens to your server

When the service ends, the server stops. **Back up anything you want to keep first**: go to **Backups**, create a backup, and download it.

If you change your mind, you can buy the same plan again within **7 days** of it ending, and your old server comes back with its files.

## Free trials

To end a free trial early, cancel it the same way. If you didn't add a payment method, the trial simply ends when its time is up.

## Can't cancel?

- **Team members can't cancel.** Only the owner of the service can. Ask them, or [open a ticket](/billing/tickets).
- **A plan change is scheduled.** Cancel the scheduled change first.
