Beacon stores backups per server. You can restore one onto the server, or download a copy to keep locally.
Open the server from Server Selection, then click Backups in the sidebar.
Wait until a backup shows a file size. If it still says Creating backup... or Processing..., it is not ready.
Warning
Restore replaces files from that backup onto the live server. Take a new backup first if you might need the current world or configs.
Restore a backup
- Stop the server from Console. Restoring while it is running can leave files half-written.
- Open Backups.
- Find the backup you want (name and date are on the card).
- Open the ⋯ menu on that card.
- Click Restore.
The server status becomes restoring. Stay on Console until it finishes, then start the server and check that the world and files look right.
Restore does not delete the backup. You can restore the same backup again later.
Download a backup
- Open Backups.
- Open the ⋯ menu on a finished backup.
- Click Download.
Your browser should start the download, or open a link to the backup archive. Save that file somewhere safe.
Info
Downloads are not available on free trial servers. Upgrade the service if you need a local copy. You can still create and restore backups on the panel if your plan includes backup slots.
If you do not see Restore or Download
- Subusers: the server owner must grant backup restore and download permissions.
- No backups listed: create one with the button on the Backups page, or your plan’s backup limit may be
0(upgrade to enable backups). - Protected / locked backups can still be restored and downloaded. Lock only stops them from being deleted.
After a restore
Join the game and confirm the world, plugins, and configs are what you expected. If you restored the wrong backup, restore a different one the same way — after another stop.
