How to Upgrade or Downgrade a Server

You change RAM, CPU, disk, and hardware-tier plans from billing, on the service itself. This is not the store, and there is no sidebar item named “Upgrade/Downgrade.”

You must be the service owner. Sub-users cannot change the plan. The service must be Active (cancelled services have no upgrade button).

Step 1: Open the service

1. Log in at www.beaconhosting.org/auth/login
2. Open Billing or Services
3. Click the service you want to change (or Manage)

That page is /billing/services/…, not /billing/store.

Step 2: Upgrade Service

On the service page, click Upgrade Service.

A plan picker opens. For Minecraft, use the hardware tabs if more than one is listed:

• Budget hardware
• Premium hardware
• Extreme hardware

Each card shows CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth for that plan. Your current plan is billed on the same cycle you already have (weekly / monthly / quarterly / yearly). Changing how often you pay is a separate control on this page and only applies after the current period ends.

Step 3: Confirm the charge or credit

Select the new plan and review the summary:

• More expensive plan: you are billed a prorated amount for the rest of this period. Auto-pay accounts are charged on the saved card. Invoice accounts may need to pay the new invoice.
• Cheaper plan: unused time on this period is credited and applied to later invoices.

Click Confirm. The panel shows “Applying your upgrade…” while Stripe updates the subscription.

What happens to the server

After a successful change:

• Files, worlds, plugins, and panel settings stay on the same server
• RAM, CPU, disk, and bandwidth limits update to the new plan
• Backup slot limits (and other extras on the plan) update too
• The server is restarted so the new limits apply

Package Manager and the rest of the panel stay available. This does not reinstall the server or move you through checkout again.

Notes

• Only Active services can change plan.
• Add-ons (extra storage, extra backups, and similar) are managed on the same service page, separately from Upgrade Service.
• Billing cycle (monthly vs yearly) is not chosen in this flow.
• The panel does not block a smaller disk plan just because you are using more disk today. If you shrink storage below what the world uses, the server can hit its disk cap after the restart. Shrink files first, or pick a plan with enough disk.
• If the picker says No upgrade options available, the product has no other plans for your cycle — open a ticket.
