How to Enable Hardcore Mode on a Minecraft Server
Hardcore mode in Minecraft offers a challenging experience where players have only one life and the difficulty is locked to hard. Activating Hardcore mode on your server can provide a thrilling gameplay atmosphere for you and your community. This guide will walk you through enabling Hardcore mode on your Minecraft server hosted with Beacon Hosting.
Step 1: Access Your Server
Log in to Beacon Hosting and open Your Servers. Select the Minecraft server you want to modify.
Step 2: Open server.properties
In the server sidebar, go to Files and open server.properties. This file controls server settings, including Hardcore mode. The Visual Editor opens by default.
Step 3: Enable Hardcore Mode
In the Visual Editor, expand Commonly used or search for hardcore. Turn hardcore to Enabled. In the Raw Editor, the same setting is hardcore=true.
The panel describes Hardcore as: players are banned on death.
Step 4: Save and Restart Your Server
Save your changes in server.properties, then restart the server from Console.
[INFO] Note: Enabling Hardcore mode locks the difficulty to hard and players are banned on death. Make sure your players are aware before enabling this mode.
