How To Create A Minecraft Server

Introduction

Minecraft is a game best played with friends and if you want a 24/7 server then hosting is the best way to go. This guide will show you how to make a server quickly with no prior knowledge for any version. Crossplay Minecraft is available with us with geyser servers which cost no extra. We hold the price advantage over Minecraft Realms as a cheaper better alternative with much more flexibility with support for more players, plugins such as having a Live Map for your server on your browser, Custom terrain generators and much more.

Step 1

Create an account with Beacon Hosting if you haven't already at Sign up.

Step 2

Go to the Minecraft Store Page and select a plan from Budget, Premium, Extreme. Choosing the correct plan is essential as it determines how well your server runs and how many people it can handle. We recommend Premium plans in general for the best experience and value for money but Budget does exist for those who need something cheaper and don't mind mild lag. Once selected fill out the options, you can always upgrade later how ever its better to go a bit over what you need to save your the hassle of changing your plan.
Remember that the player count is how many people you expect to be on at once. These are not hard limits however are recommended to avoid lag. We offer unlimited slots so player count is not limited.

Step 3

Once you have purchased your server you can view it in the servers page here select your server to enter the management page. This is where you manage your server and edit it to your hearts desire.

Step 4

You will see a Menu for all the installers we offer. Click Minecraft then the appropriate installer for you. If you want to run vanilla Minecraft we recommend using the Installer labeled Optimized Minecraft. While gameplay remains unchanged it preforms much better then vanilla while adding a few Interesting optional features like carpet mod and a Web Map. If you want a Modded version and are using a public Modpack select your Modpack from the Curseforge/Modrinth installers options or click on Forge/Fabric and follow our SFTP tutorial on how to upload your current modpack.

Crossplay is available in the Geyser / Crossplay installer allowing you to join on both Java and Bedrock.

CraftBukkit Servers, Spigot Servers and Paper Servers are also available.

Step 5 - The Grand Finale

Once your Minecraft Server has been installed press the start button to run it and get the address from the bar next the to name of your server at the top. Copy this address into Minecraft. (For bedrock the port and Ip must be entered separately and are separated by the colon) (For crossplay geyser the port for Bedrock and Java are different and can be found on the Right)

Step 6 - Enjoy your new server

Your server is complete and is now active. Play with your friends and enjoy your world to do as you desire.
