How to Completely Reset an Ark Server
If you're looking to wipe your Ark: Survival Evolved server and start fresh, Beacon Hosting makes the process easy via our control panel. This guide explains how to fully reset your Ark server, including deleting player data, world saves, and configuration files if needed.
[WARNING] This process is irreversible. Be sure to back up any important data before proceeding.
Step 1: Stop Your Server
- Log into the Beacon Hosting Control Panel.
- Select your Ark server from the list.
- Click “Stop” to safely power down the server before making any changes.
Step 2: Delete Save Data and Configs
- Navigate to the File Manager tab in your server panel.
- Locate the following directories (relative to the game server root):
ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks
ShooterGame/Saved/Config
-
Delete the contents of these folders:
SavedArks
– contains world and tribe data.Config
– contains server/gameplay settings. Only delete this if you want to fully revert to default configs.
[TIP] You may also want to delete
PlayerLocalData.sav
or*.arkprofile
files to reset individual players.
Step 3: (Optional) Clear Mods
If you'd like to reset your mod setup:
- Navigate to
ShooterGame/Content/Mods
- Delete all installed mod folders and
mod.info
files.
You can re-install your preferred mods later via the control panel.
Step 4: Start the Server
Once all desired files are deleted:
- Go back to the Console tab.
- Click “Start” to boot up your server.
- Ark will automatically regenerate fresh world files with default settings.
Let Your Players Know
Wiping your server removes all progress, builds, and tribes. We recommend announcing the reset beforehand and optionally posting a changelog or reset date in your server Discord or announcements channel.
