How to Download a World File and Upload to Singleplayer
Downloading your Minecraft world file from your Beacon Hosting server and uploading it to your singleplayer game is a straightforward process. This guide will walk you through each step to ensure your world is transferred correctly.
Step 1: Access Your Server Files
Log into the Beacon Hosting Control Panel and navigate to the server you wish to download the world file from.
Open the File Manager or connect using an FTP client to access your server files.
Step 2: Locate and Download the World Folder
Your Minecraft world is stored in folders typically named:
world— your main Overworldworld_nether— your Nether dimensionworld_the_end— your End dimension
To ensure all progress is saved, download all three folders.
Before downloading, compress them into a single .zip file using the File Manager’s “Archive” or “Compress” option.
[WARNING] Stop your server before downloading world files to prevent data corruption.
Once compressed, download the .zip file to your computer.
Step 3: Upload the World to Singleplayer
Locate your Minecraft saves folder on your local computer:
- Windows:
C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves - Linux:
~/.minecraft/saves
Extract your downloaded world folder (for example, world) into the saves directory.
Ensure the folder contains files like level.dat, region, and data — not another folder inside.
Launch Minecraft → select Singleplayer → your world should appear in the list.
[INFO] If the world does not load correctly, ensure your Minecraft version matches the version your Beacon Hosting server was running.
