How to Reset The End and Nether Dimensions on a Minecraft Server

Over time, The End and Nether can become cluttered or depleted. Resetting them gives players a fresh experience and can help resolve performance issues. Here's how to safely reset these dimensions on a Beacon Hosting Minecraft server.

🛑 Before You Start

Make a full backup of your server using the Beacon Hosting control panel or download your world files via FTP. Resetting dimensions will permanently delete structures and progress in those worlds.

Step 1: Stop Your Server

  1. Go to your Beacon Hosting server panel.
  2. Select your server.
  3. Click Stop to shut it down before making file changes.

Step 2: Delete The End and/or Nether Folders

  1. Open your File Manager or connect via FTP.
  2. Navigate to your main world folder (commonly named world, world_nether, and world_the_end).
  3. Delete the following depending on what you want to reset:
    • DIM1 inside world_the_end/ → resets The End.
    • DIM-1 inside world_nether/ → resets the Nether.

💡 Some server jars use separate folders like world_nether or world_the_end instead — delete the entire folder instead of just DIM-1 or DIM1.

Step 3: Start Your Server

  1. Return to your control panel.
  2. Click Start — the server will regenerate the deleted dimensions from scratch.
