How to Transfer Spigot or Paper Nether/End Worlds to Vanilla
If you are using Beacon Hosting's Spigot or Paper server and want to move your Nether or End worlds to a Vanilla Minecraft server, this guide will walk you through the process. Transferring these worlds requires careful handling to ensure your valuable game progress and builds remain intact.
[WARNING] Always back up your server files before making any changes to prevent data loss.
Step 1: Access Your Server Files
Log in to your Beacon Hosting control panel or connect via FTP. Locate your server folders:
world– your Overworldworld_nether– your Nether worldworld_the_end– your End world
Optionally, also locate playerdata and stats from the main world if you want to preserve player positions, inventory, and achievements.
Step 2: Download the Worlds
Download the world_nether and world_the_end folders to your local computer. Keep the folder structure intact to prevent corruption.
Tip: If you want to preserve player progress, also download the
playerdataandstatsfolders from your main world.
Step 3: Prepare Folders for Vanilla
Vanilla Minecraft expects dimensions to be named differently inside the main world folder:
- Rename
world_nether→DIM-1 - Rename
world_the_end→DIM1
If you want player data preserved, copy the playerdata and stats folders from your Spigot/Paper main world into your Vanilla main world folder (world).
Step 4: Upload to Your Vanilla Server
Access the file manager or FTP for your Vanilla server hosted with Beacon Hosting.
- Upload
DIM-1andDIM1inside your Vanilla main world folder (world). - Ensure any
playerdataorstatsfolders are also placed in the main world folder. - Do not place these folders in the root directory; they must reside inside the main world folder.
Step 5: Restart Your Server
After uploading, restart your Vanilla server from the Beacon Hosting panel. Vanilla will automatically load the Nether and End dimensions from the correctly named folders.
Step 6: Verify the Transfer
Connect to your Vanilla server and explore the Nether and End. Ensure all builds, blocks, and player data (if transferred) are intact.
Note: Plugin-specific blocks or entities from Spigot/Paper may not appear correctly in Vanilla, as Vanilla does not support plugin-added content.
