How to Grant OP Permissions on a Minecraft Server

Granting OP (operator) status gives players administrative permissions on your server, allowing them to run powerful commands like /gamemode, /tp, and more.

Grant OP via the Console

  1. Log in to the Beacon Hosting Game Panel.
  2. Select your Minecraft server.
  3. Go to the Console tab.
  4. Type the following command:
   op <playername>

Replace <playername> with the exact Minecraft username of the player you want to OP.

  1. Press Enter. The player will immediately receive OP permissions in-game.

Example

op Steve

This gives the user Steve operator permissions on the server.

⚠️ Important

Only grant OP permissions to trusted users. Operators can run any command, including those that can shut down or modify the server.
