Granting OP (operator) status gives players administrative permissions on your server, allowing them to run powerful commands like /gamemode
, /tp
, and more.
Grant OP via the Console
- Log in to the Beacon Hosting Game Panel.
- Select your Minecraft server.
- Go to the Console tab.
- Type the following command:
op <playername>
Replace <playername>
with the exact Minecraft username of the player you want to OP.
- Press Enter. The player will immediately receive OP permissions in-game.
Example
op Steve
This gives the user Steve operator permissions on the server.
⚠️ Important
Only grant OP permissions to trusted users. Operators can run any command, including those that can shut down or modify the server.
