How to Upgrade or Downgrade a Server

Need more power or looking to scale down? Beacon Hosting makes it easy to upgrade or downgrade your server plan at any time.

Step-by-Step: Upgrade or Downgrade Your Server

  1. Log in to the Beacon Hosting Billing Panel.

  2. Go to “Services” and select the server you want to modify.

  3. Click on the “Upgrade/Downgrade” option from the sidebar menu.

  4. Choose your new plan from the list of available options.

  5. Complete the checkout process. If you're downgrading, any credit will be automatically applied.

Once completed, your server will be adjusted to the selected package. Changes usually apply instantly or within a few minutes, depending on the service.

What’s Included?

When you upgrade or downgrade a server:

  • Your files and settings remain intact
  • Resource limits (RAM, storage, CPU) adjust to the new plan
  • You keep access to plugin/package installation and service customization features

Notes

  • Some upgrades may require a server restart.
  • Downgrading to a smaller plan may not be possible if your server exceeds the lower plan’s limits.
  • If unsure, contact support before making changes.
