How to Edit Level Data on a Minecraft Server
Editing level data on your Minecraft server allows you to customize your game world or fix issues with the map. This guide provides clear instructions for Beacon Hosting customers to safely modify their server's level data.
Step 1: Access Your Server Files
Log in to your Beacon Hosting control panel and navigate to the file manager. Alternatively, you can connect via FTP using your server credentials.
Step 2: Locate the Level Data Folder
Within the server files, find the folder named after your world (usually named "world" by default). This folder contains all the level data files.
Step 3: Download and Edit Level Data
Download the relevant level data files to your computer. Use trusted third-party tools like NBTExplorer to modify the data safely. Always back up your files before making any changes.
Step 4: Upload Modified Files
After editing, upload the modified files back to the same folder on your server, overwriting the existing ones.
Step 5: Restart Your Server
Restart your Minecraft server through the Beacon Hosting control panel to apply the changes.
[NOTE] Always create a full backup of your server before editing level data to prevent data loss.
