How to Change the View Distance on a Minecraft Server
Adjusting the view distance on your Minecraft server is a useful way to balance performance and player experience. Beacon Hosting makes it easy to update this setting directly from your control panel.
Steps to Change View Distance

Log in to your Beacon Hosting client area and navigate to your Minecraft server service.

Open the server control panel from your service dashboard.

Go to the File Manager or Config Editor and locate the
server.properties
file. -
Find the line starting with
view-distance=
and change the number to your desired value.- For example:
view-distance=8
Recommended values range between 6 and 10. Lower values improve performance, while higher values increase chunk visibility at the cost of more server resources.
